Happy Thanksgiving Break!

We had such a fun Thanksgiving break! I have been overly excited this year to decorate for Christmas. Must have something to do with the fact that we have our own house to decorate for the first time :) I started a while ago searching on Pinterest for Christmas crafts. I'm the worst crafter in the world... so I knew if I wanted to do any and actually get them done, I would need to start early. I found a few things that seemed easy enough and decided I wanted to do them! In my mind... if I make the decoration instead of buy it, it must be cheaper. But in reality... you have to BUY the stuff to make the decoration.. which sometimes can cost more than just buying the dang decoration already made. Nonetheless, I like to feel accomplished and to be able to say that I made whatever the decoration is :) soooo here is what I've done this Holiday season!

Ornaments, "A King is Born", and the wreath! (which up until I made this wreath I always thought they were called Wreifs... embarrassing) So it's nothing super fancy, but for my lack of talent, I'm very happy with all of them :) And a biiiiigggg shout out to Lacey Fausett for helping me shop for the cheapest and best ornaments!

Also... we got our tree up!!! This was like my favorite night of the whole break, we had so much fun. We went to Walmart to pick out our what we thought was going to be a "cheap" Christmas tree. I assumed it would be a pretty quick process, I also assumed my Husband would be the one who would want a cheap tree, and I would be the one who would be looking at expensive. I was wrong. I always forget how picky Spencer can be when it comes to our house and how it looks! He has quite the decorator side to him. And for that I am very lucky! We looked at trees for soooo long. Started with cheap, then to expensive, then with lights, then one that spins, then back to cheap... and so on. And on top of that, we kept making the worker go get different ones out of the back we wanted to look at... and then decided we didn't want them. After all was said and done, we ended up with one much bigger, more expensive, lights built in, and that spins! Haha AND we propped it up on TWO boxes to make it even taller. And we couldn't be happier with it :)
The finished product :) We celebrated by going to get waffles at the the Waffle Truck after, which was soooo delicous! Then spent the rest of the night setting everything up and taking pictures and listening to Christmas music. Like I said... it was the best night :)

Our cute Christmas room :)

I of course had to match my cute mom when her and my dad put up their first tree! I'd say we're basically twins if you ask me :)

And Spence and I had to take a picture of us hanging up our first ornament together! We are told it's a pretty big deal, so we decided to make it one :)

On Black Friday the LAST thing I wanted to do was shop. I hate shopping. All the time I hate it. Especially if it's busy. Buttttt being the good Samaritan that I am, I decided to go with my Husb this year since he wanted to check out a few things. I actually think I ended up buying more than him... so it wasn't too bad! He kept wanting to go to Walmart though. Like.. really bad. And for no reason. Just to walk around. Call me crazy, but on this specific day (and most other days) there just couldn't be a worse idea to me! So to distract him, I suggested we just went and walked around Riverwoods instead :) that got him super excited! As we were walking around admiring the lights, we saw... SANTA!!! We obvi had to stop and get a pic.
Santa is the best :) I feel like this picture could be on a christmas card!

Sooo I'd say we had a very fun, successful Thanksgiving break! We were so sad to go back to work, but I'm feeling very excited about all this snow! Last year, we built a snowman that stayed up for literally MONTHS! Can't wait to see if we can do it again :) So grateful for my fun Husb and fun life! I'm so blessed!
