Ice castle fun and birthdays!

We had such a good day off of work yesterday! My father in laws birthday is on Valentines day, so we decided to celebrate it yesterday. We went up to Heber to hang out with the fam! Spence got in some racquetball time with his mom and brothers, while I played marbles with our niece Skyla :) I had no idea marbles was the "in" thing for kids right now! Then we had dinner with everyone! It's so much fun to get the whole Fam together. Doesn't happen too often, so definitely thankful for the times we can make it happen :)

We love marbles!

Opening gifts. Happy birthday Doug!

My main man Eddy. Love him so much!!

After dinner we went to the Ice Castles in Midway! We were anticipating a long line so we thought we were being smart by buying tickets online before we went.... the wait was still an hour and a half!! And it was freeeeeeezing. We made it fun though! Went and watched the ice skaters for a while, walked around, some of the girls actually decided to ice skate while we wait! Once we FINALLY got into the castles... I wasn't too impressed. Haha it was fun! Just not really worth the wait in my opinion. Still pretty cool though and fun to experience it with family!

Most of us that were there!

acting like we were ice skating and... falling over??

Needless to say, we had a great day off! We are so blessed. Also, just have to give a shout out to my Grandma Hardman! Her 80 brithday was on Saturday. We had a surprise birthday party for her at Golden Corral (sp?). She is the BEST!! Love her so much and her example to me.

Isn't she beautiful?? Happy birthday Grandma!!

Happy Valentines Day!

I love Valentines. I've always loved it. Whether I had a boyfriend or not, I loved how happy the day was. I love getting on Facebook and seeing everyone express their love and gratitude. I love that it helps people realize how much love they have, and how much others love them. I feel sad for those who hate Vday. It's not just about relationships, it's about love. Any kind of love. This year was by FAR the best Valentines I've ever had! First Vday as a married couple :) and boy was it perfect. Spencer brought me a dozen roses to work which was sooo sweet. Also, with the roses, a gift card for FOUR massages!! FOUR! I've never been so happy! We had dinner plans that night so just wanted a quick, light, lunch. So we decided to go to Burger King to just get some chicken nuggets to tie us over. We got there and got out our coupons (can't go somewhere without a coupon!) and ordered our food. Then worker said, "You're the lucky couple, Burger King is going to pay for your meal!" WOO! Haha we were so excited! After we learned we weren't paying for it we ordered some drinks, some cookies, it didn't matter how full we got anymore, it was free! Also, they had us sit in their "love booth" and took a picture and put it on some website or something. We were way too excited about it.

Then that night I was coming home after work to pick Spence up and go to Magelby's Fresh. Our fave restaurant. And when I walked in the door all the lights were off, candles were lit, our furniture was moved around with a yoga mat on the floor, and my yoga dvd was playing. Haha I was so so confused. Spence of course came up with the cutest most thoughtful way of giving me  my new yoga mat! And recorded the whole thing :) I loved the set up it was so romantic and sweet of him. Then we went to dinner and the movie Endless Love. I liked it! Spence... not so much. He was very nice to let me go to such a chick flick on Vday :) It was the most perfect day!

I couldn't figure out how to get the video to post, but here's the link to it if you want to see!

Like I said, Valentines day is about more than just being in a relationship, it's about love. And I LOVE it!! So grateful I fell in love with the best guy ever, and he fell in love right back. We are so blessed :)

Spa Weekend :)

Spencer and I had the BEST weekend. He's the sweetest. He planned a little "get away" at the Zermatt Hotel in Midway. I kept telling him over and over that I wanted couples massages, not really knowing if we would do it because I know they are expensive! So we got there and got checked in and the first thing we did, before we even went to our room, was head to the spa to see what their schedule was like :) we signed up for the BEST spa day ever :) Spencer was so sweet to let me pick what we did. So Friday night we had dinner at the Hotel, and then went and swam in the Crater. I love swimming in the Crater. We did it last year around this time too and it was so much fun! Then Saturday morning we woke up and went to breakfast, and then sat in the hot tub for a while, and then it was spa time :) We had couples foot scrubs, couples massages, and they had us sit in a fancy room after by a fire with chocolate covered strawberries and "champagne" (sparkling cider). It was the MOST relaxing, best weekend I've ever had. I couldn't stop thinking how fortunate we are to have the ability to get away like that on just any weekend. Once the kids come that won't be happening too often, so time to take advantage of it now :)

The relaxing room we ate our strawberries in!

What our package entailed and the great massage/foot scrub room!

The snowy view from our room :)

Dinner!
I have the best husband for planning this whole trip for us. It was just what we needed. Love him so much!!
